Cradle

Far-out, is what she said to herself

She’s not about to let it bother her

So long I’ve got to carry on

All of a sudden she’s in her dress

She’s got to leave soon got to leave this big mess

No one here to blame she feels the shame

Guilt is burning hot running red in her veins!

Shivering so hard thinking much too hard

The thing that she cares for seems to keep slipping away

The way things were before she made the simple mistake

Don’t fall asleep again, don’t let the dreams begin

She’s working too hard, she’s working too hard

to keep a dream alive!

She’s working too hard, she’s working too hard

just to survive!

Inside a routine inside the same deal

She’s got to let go of what he thought was real

Into this madness into this frantic fight

In walks the madman if she falls asleep at night.

Shivering so hard thinking much too hard

The thing that she cares for seems to keep slipping away

The way things were before she made the simple mistake

Don’t fall asleep again, don’t let the dreams begin

She’s working too hard, she’s working too hard

to keep a dream alive!

She’s working too hard, she’s working too hard

just to survive
